The world’s biggest youth organisation National Cadet Corps biggest contingent got together at the annual Republic Day Camp 2020 at Delhi.

Cadets of NCC Directorate Jammu, Kashmir & Ladhak participated in this one month long Republic Day Camp at Cariappa Parade Ground, Delhi Cantt in January this year, where total of 114 cadets including Girl cadets of JK & L NCC participated. In all across the country 28 states and nine union territories (UT’s) total of 2155 cadets including 710 girls got the honour to do this prestigious Camp. These cadets are some of the best youth of the country, having emerged after a tough selection process. Cadets of JK & L where given a warm welcome on their arrival back to NCC camping ground Nagrota. On behalf of Major General Naveen Kumar Airy, Additional Director General of NCC Directorate JK & L,Brigadier Kapil Sood along with the staff of Srinagar and Jammu Group welcomed the cadets. JK & L cadets have brought loads of laurel for Jammu, Kashmir and Ladhak by bagging various prizes and honour at all India level. Director General NCC’s commendation Card was bagged by Cadet Mehr-Un-Nisa from Anantnag and Cadet Rohit Billowria from Jammu. The Directorate  cultural ballet stood third, Flag Area third,Cadet Overall best performance of Directorate was bagged by Cadet  Mitali Sharma of GCW  Gandhi nagar, Cadet Mitali got the honour forthe best commentator for master of ceremony, she was highly appreciated for hervote of thanks given to General MM Narvane, Chief of Army Staff, she was found to be the all rounder and hard working cadet for which she was personally appreciated by Lt Gen Rajeev Chopra, Director General NCC by presenting her coveted Director Generals memento. Cadet Mitali Sharma is also expected to visit our foreign friendly countries under NCC youth exchange  programme.

NCC Republic Day Camp is held every year in the month ofJan. The aim of the Republic Day Camp is to provide the cadets an exposure, to the rich culture and tradition of our  Nation and the important events that takeplace in the National Capital during the run up for Republic Day, besidesprojecting to the Nation the cherished ideals and capabilities of the cadets of  the NCC. The Camp portrays a reflection of“Mini India”.

The cadets take part in various competitions and put up a large number of programs for various events in addition, cadets from some friendly foreign countries also attend the RDC. The cadets arrive in end Dec after which they get busy in various activities that  includes preparing to receive the Honorable Vice President of India on 06 Jan, for the inauguration of the camp.

A number of VVIP’s visit the camp and the cadets take partin the  Republic Day Rajpath Parade also.The activities culminate in the PM’s Rally, a spectacular parade conducted exclusively by NCC. This camp is perhaps the most wonderful display of ‘Unity in Diversity’ of our vast country.
